Travelers in Africa found that fires in the jungle started “automatically”—without any apparent human involvement. The travelers were surprised and could find no clues. These jungle fires were very common. Then some of the people found the following reasons why the fires started.
They found out that there was a piece of glass.
God is always looking for an individual whom he can use and consume and set on fire for His glory and honor. When we read the Bible, we see God is always looking for an individual. It was Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Peter, Paul, or others.
God took this individual into His mighty hands and used him for His glory and honor.
It is not only a piece of glass but it is a broken piece of glass.
It is a broken piece of glass.
God always uses broken people. He loves a contrite heart. The arrogant person, a proud person, God does not like him. Although David was a murderer and adulterer, God forgave him because of his brokenness. God said, “David is a person after My own heart.” It is a difficult process to be broken but God loves and encourages the brokenness. This was not only a broken piece of glass but it was a transparent broken piece of glass.
It was a transparent broken piece of glass.
The light of the sun easily and more effectively passes through the transparent broken piece of glass. Then it sets the jungle on fire. If the glass is colorful or black, then the sunlight cannot pass through it and will not produce the needed results. Transparency is very essential. God is also looking for people who are transparent; when you stand beside them, you can see through them. God is looking for transparency in our relationships, attitudes, and in our actions. Then God can use such people for His honor. God can make him His fire. It was not only a transparent broken piece of glass but at the same time this transparent broken piece of glass faced the sun.
The transparent broken piece of glass faced the sun.
It is very essential for this transparent broken piece of glass to face the sun. If it is not facing the sun then there is no fire. Even if it is a piece of glass, it is broken, it is transparent… if it is not facing the sun it cannot ignite a fire. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.” Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. A believer must face the Son to get this fire ignited in his life.
When this small piece of glass has the above characteristics then it is able to put a huge jungle on fire.
God can do the same with the life of a tiny, broken, transparent believer, who continuously faces the SON of God. God can set him on fire.
