But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
Isaiah 43:1 KJV
The Lord said these words to Jacob; he is Israel, “O Israel, you are Mine.” In the holy Word, the Scriptures, our holy God, the great God, speaks to Israel. I am your husband, you are My wife, but you are an unfaithful wife.
Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.
Jeremiah 3:20
The Lord God shows his faithfulness time and again to Israel and reminds her, O Israel, you are Mine, because I am Jehovah.
I am Jehovah, I am the Lord.
I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior.
Isaiah 43:11
The Lord says, I am worthy to be praised, adored and honored; there is no God like Me. I am Lord; I have been victorious with glory. I threw the horse and its rider into the sea. I am the Master of war, Jehovah is My name. I threw the chariots of Pharaoh and his numberless army into the sea; his special and selected generals were destroyed in the Red Sea and the deep water hides them. They went into the bottom of the sea like a stone. My right hand is glorious due to My power. My right hand tears My enemies into pieces, with the greatness of my power and strength I turn my foes upside down.
Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying,
I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea
Exodus 15:1
The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red Sea. The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy. And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble
Exodus 15:3-7
I am Jehovah. I am the God worthy to be praised. There is no God except Me, neither on the face of earth, nor above in heaven. I am the true God. All the gods of this world are just idols, they do not talk, they do not see, listen, smell and touch, nor do they walk.
They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat
Psalm 115:5-7
There is no God apart from Me. I am Jehovah and I have redeemed you.
I have redeemed thee.
But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
Isaiah 43:1
I have created you and redeemed you, I have delivered you. The Lord says, “I have sent my only begotten Son into this sinful world for your sake. He was perfectly sinless. He did not know sin.” He made Him sin on our behalf that we may become the righteousness of God through Him.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Corinthians 5:21
God says, My beloved Son gave His life on the cross for your sake. He paid a great price in order to save you. No person on this earth, nor in heaven can pay that price. He was badly beaten with lashes, He was cursed, He was slapped and they spat on His face; He was mocked. They blindfolded Him and asked Him to prophesy… “Tell us who has slapped you?” (Author paraphrase).
And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?”
Luke 22:64 KJV
They put a crown of thorns on His head; He was humiliated, ridiculed about being called a king. His head was bleeding. A heavy cross was put on His shoulders, and He carried that cross. He reached the place of crucifixion and on the same cross He was crucified. Due to physical weakness, the lashes and beatings, He could not carry the cross for the whole distance. The Roman soldiers were very aggressive and brutal. His hands and feet were pierced with big nails, He was crucified. He bore great pain on the cross, and at last He gave up His life.
God says, “My beloved Son has redeemed you, delivered you. He started his earthly work and I saw him from heaven when he came out of the water after being baptized by John… at that moment I said, ‘This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased’.” (Matthew 3:17).
I am very much pleased with Him; He has redeemed you. I have redeemed you through My Son. You are mine, I have redeemed you and I have called thee by thy name;
I have called thee by thy name.
But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
Isaiah 43:1
I have called thee by thy name; I know your name. I knew you before you were born.
The Prophet David wrote, For thou hast possessed my reins:
thou hast covered me in my mother’swomb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Psalm 139:13-15
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
Psalm 139:16-18
There are billions of people in this world but I have called you by your name, because I love you, I called Samuel by his name and said, “O Samuel, O Samuel”, and he responded to Me. “O Lord, speak because Thy servant hears.’’ I called Saul on the road to Damascus, while he was going to arrest my people, frightening them and killing them. There I called to him, “O Saul, O Saul, why do you persecute me?” He responded, “O Lord, who are you whom I persecute?” (Author paraphrase).
I love you, I am Lord, I am Jehovah, I have delivered you, I have called you by your name and you are Mine.
You are Mine.
How comforting, consoling, calming and assuring are these words! There is ownership in these words. There is sweetness, there is a message of ownership, and there is a picture of safety, security and protection. Whatever I own, it is yours. You are part of Me; no one can snatch you from my hand. Nobody can separate you from Me. You are in Me and I am in you. I love you, that is why I sent My Son for you; He gave His life for you. I give you life eternal. I am Jehovah, I have delivered you. I have called you by your name, so fear not.
Fear not! Why?
Because you are Mine, this is My task and responsibility to protect you. I have made a hedge around you; My angels always surround you and protect you, My eyes are always upon you. Fear not because you are Mine.
When you go through the fire, the fire will not harm you. When you pass through deep water, you will not drown.
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Isaiah 43:2
You should not have fear of the terrors of night, nor from the arrow which harms in the daytime; because I am with you. The sun will not harm you in the noontime, nor the moon at night; because I am with you.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
Psalm 91:5-6
You are Mine, even if you pass through the valley of the shadow of death, I am with you, and it cannot harm you.
Conclusion:
The Lord God is saying to his people I am Jehovah, I have delivered you, you are Mine fear not. There is comfort, consolation, closeness, ownership and encouragement in Him. But these words are only for those who are purchased by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. These brief statements have a lot of depth, height, length, width, and revelation. These words are real and full of energy and power.
The people who do not fear the Lord… these words are not for them. If you are in the Lord, and the Lord is in you, then you are a blessed person and these words and promises are for you.
